June 16th, 2024 will be the date of the inaugural UFL championship game with Saint Louis being the site. Passionately referred to as "The BattleDome", The Dome at America's Center has been the home of the Saint Louis BattleHawks since XFL 2.0 in 2019. The BattleHawks blew out the rest of the XFL in attendance as The BattleDome housed 175,121 rowdy fans in their five home games in 2023. Even though I have never been to a game there or ever been in Saint Louis in general, you can feel the energy through the television screen. Since the departure of the Rams for Los Angeles 2016, the city had been itching for a football team. The XFL filled that void and Saint Louis and the BattleHawks have been a perfect match ever since.

With the unification of the XFL and USFL, this championship game provides a step into a new era of spring football. "After setting league attendance records for all five St. Louis Battlehawks home games during the 2023 season, we’re thrilled to welcome the UFL Championship game to the Gateway City in 2024,” said Kitty Ratcliffe, President of Explore St. Louis. “St. Louis is the ideal home for this title game, and The Dome at America’s Center stands ready to welcome UFL fans from around the nation for what promises to be a signature event for the region.”

The UFL’s season consists of 10 regular season games between its eight teams and two conference playoff games before the championship game. In 2023, the Arlington Renegades won the XFL Championship with a 35-26 victory over the D.C. Defenders while the Birmingham Stallions won 28-12 over the Pittsburgh Maulers for their second consecutive USFL Championship.Currently, the Birmingham Stallions (+270) and D.C. Defenders (+350) are the betting favorites to meet in Saint Louis but I have a feeling that there's another team closer to home that Saint Louisans are hoping make their first appearance in a championship game.
